Pictures of Life Here

I am going to send photos a little at a time as the dial up service makes it tough to post them. Here is our apartment, it is super clean, HUGE by standards here, and we feel very lucky to have sucha cozy home away from home. There is no thermostat as it is heated by the city with steam pipes, but thus far we have had the perfect temperature despite how cold it is outside. They apartments are solid concrete so although we have neighbors we rarely hear much. We are in a newew apartment building and it has an enclosed balcony where we have stored out suitcases which also gives us much more space inside. The toilet is in a separate little stall room from the tub/shower/sink. We have exactly 5 bowls , 5 plates, 5 spoons, 5 forks...bnut no butter knives and two knifes to cut with that look as if they were can openers at one time. There are plenty of warm, clean blankets and the cool larger square pillows that might be my one treat purchase for myself before we leave...I have remembered them from 5 years ago and wished I had bought when then! We are safe and sound in out little flat!

What a nice apartment you have. You certainly do look very comfortable there!

You guys remain in my thoughts and prayers. I know this is really tough and even though you may feel at peace, all the turmoil and crazy emotions are still there. You can feel at peace and still hurt at the same time, if that makes any sense.

You don't have to apologize for this not being a fairy tale. As you said, this is real life, with real children, with real emotions and with very real and complicated histories. As you told me, their reactions are normal for what they have been through. I only hope that your writing gives you an outlet for your emotions and a place to get your thoughts in order. I know it does for me, which is why I write so much these days LOL! Don't feel like you have to write anything but what you want to write. We are privileged to get such an intimate look at your lives, because really, this could be any of our lives. All of our stories are different but they are all complicated. They all have joy and pain.

Continue what you are doing with the girls. God will give you the wisdom you need. You will have setbacks. You will have surprises. But you are their mom. And you are a good mom. Don't let anyone tell you differently.
