Happy 4th of July!

This will be short and mostly photos, but we had a wonderful 4th of July! Went to church and snuck out early to line up for the parade. Dominick was asked to be in it to spray people with his pressure washer, so he gladly obliged. We all made shirts yesterday and everyone felt very much in the mood to celebrate! After the parade, came home and rested...well, at least the boys did while us girls hit Wally World to do some grocery shopping. Then it was off to a local park where our church had its annual 4th dinner and watched the fireworks together.

The girls loved it all, and went to bed just awhile go saying how happy they were and how much fun the whole day was. They have all begged to be in the parade again next year.

For some reason, it is 4th of July that brings out more strongly than other times of the year that we are so very fortunate to live in a small town in the west, where our kids can experience a glimmer of what life used to be like...old fashioned celebrations, parades with Scouts and politicians riding by, donations accepted by the Rotary Club for the fireworks display, 3 legged races and softball in the fading glow of evening light...I love this life we live, I love our friends and our church and our family. I love our hometown and everything about it. And this year, for reasons understood by all, I feel an even deeper appreciation for this wonderful country of ours.

Here is our holiday in pictures.

Having fun playing softball.

It's not just Kenny that devours watermelon!

The girls are trying to see if they can beat the boys in the 3 legged race.

Rock On Boys!

These two love each other so much!

Ready for the parade.

Helping Daddy get ready for the big event!
