As I have mentioned in the past, I am a fan of the Big Picture web site for the Boston Globe http://www.bigpicture.com/ . Although not a great photographer myself, I could become addicted to truly great photos...the ones that stop time for a split second and allow you to be drawn into a moment where a story is told with no words. Imagine my surprise to look this evening and find that Kyrgyzstan was the subject of the Big Picture! There are some amazing photos there, and for those of us with older adopted children it is easier to picture the men they are already beginning to look like that are practicing falconry or in the military in these photos. LOVE LOVE LOVE the beautful ethnic Kazakh and Kyrgyz people, in fact I think they are the most beautiful in the world!

Those are incredible pics! Have you seen this site? http://www.avmv20.dsl.pipex.com/Photo%20Album/Kyrgyzstan/Kyrgyzstan%20thumbnails.htm Alan Gates is an eagle falconer in the UK that travelled to KG to hunt with the Kyrgyz Eagle falconers. His pics of the countryside and mountains (and people too) are quite good... thought you would like them :)
