Your Love Is...

I have been lonely

And You have touched me.

Words from other's lips,

Hugs from other's arms.

Your love is constant...unwavering...unrelenting

I have been filled with sorrow

And You have cradled me.

Enveloped by others,

Nurtured by others.

Your love is constant...unwavering...unrelenting

In my abyss you have found me

You have dropped me a life line.

Searched for by others,

Lifted up by others

Your love is constant...unwavering...unrelenting

In my blindness I was stumbling

You illuminated my path.

Lit by others,

Guided by others.

Your love is constant...unwavering...unrelenting

I have cried out in my pain

You have heard my voice and witnessed my tears.

Validated by others,

Gently blotted by others.

Your love is constant...unwavering...unrelenting

I have felt isolated by difference

You sent understanding.

Explained by others,

Delivered by others.

Your love is constant...unwavering...unrelenting

I give thanks for unearned love, I give thanks for undeserved grace, I give thanks for all that has come before to prepare me, I give thanks for all that I feel and see, I give thanks for that which remains a mystery.

Your love is constant...unwavering...unrelenting

I praise You and the others you send.

Amen.

Praise song from our church service this morning:

Put on the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
Let the oil of gladness flow down from Your throne.
Put on the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
Your joy is my strength alone, my strength alone.

Make these broken, weary bones rise to dance again,
Wet this dry and thirsty land with a river;
Lord, our eyes are fixed on You and we are waiting
for Your garland of grace as we praise Your name.

Put on the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
Let the oil of gladness flow down from Your throne.
Put on the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
Your joy is my strength alone, my strength alone.

Love,
