Home Again Home Again...

Kenny and I arrived home again an hour ago after a long day of flying. While it is wonderful to be home, and I missed all my other boys (including Dominick in that category! hahaha!) we felt a little tug at our hearts as we left Chicago and said good bye to our dear friends there, whom we will likely not see again until sometime early next year. It is the most wonderful gift in the world that God gave us, having people we are so close to living there. Not only does it make each trip something to look forward to, but their generosity in sharing their car, their home, their food...their love and support...is something we will never forget. It is almost like our home away from home, where "family" is waiting for us.

But getting back to our true family is always the best...seeing Matthew and Joshie come running up to hug us with huge grins on their faces is a real sweet moment, and I always miss Dominick so much when we are away. Absence may make the heart grow fonder but I'd gladly do without it if I could. I came home to a super clean house, and an empty washer and dryer as well, how much better can life get? hahaha!

We have no big plans for the remainder of our weekend, but think we will get a few things done around the house which we have on our project list. We might try and fit in some fun activity on Monday, not sure what though. It doesn't really matter what we do, I am just looking forward to some down time with us all together.

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

There is a lot of support out here. I've been surprised by moms who seem to have it all together now on homeschooling. One of my sisters homeschooled and her kids always opted out of advanced schooling (even when given a full scholarship) b/c they, in my opinion, couldn't stand a teacher different from themselves, couldn't hack the discipline...you know where I'm going...

But a friend who homeschools here locally seems to be hooked up with planning lesson sharing with other mothers and seeks out physical activities and challenges for her girls. I've been impressed at how she has them participate in a wide range of activities, sometimes at the gym, with other homeschool people.

Blessings on the new school year.

Welcome to the club!! God will bless you for even trying what you feel He is leading you to! There are all kinds of home school support groups, play groups, co-ops, etc. We are starting a new one this coming Monday for Atticus. Lots of new friends and new Monday classes (creative writing, science, etc.) just from the free co-op. We are using A Beka this year. Have you chosen your curriculum?
