As a former art major, I really can say that your kids are showing some true creative gifts. You're going to run out of wall space. Better plan a "gallery" somewhere in your home...besides the fridge door.

Since you had attachment struggles with another adoption, I assume you're aware of how extremely fast God has helped your daughters and your entire family adjust to all the changes. Just reminding you, as I know in the midst of how busy you are, it might seem "normal". You are all way beyond "normal". You're all amazing and gifted by God!

Nancy in the MidwestAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35990418.post-58484609424596255532010-05-11T19:43:02.831-06:002010-05-11T19:43:02.831-06:00I can think of no greater tribute than the card gi...I can think of no greater tribute than the card given you by Kenny. Way to go, Kenny. You know true love when you see it and feel it. Thanks to you, Mom Cindy, these kids live in a house filled with love.Grammy JoanAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07541143179779430870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35990418.post-44025664536925304392010-05-11T07:49:07.214-06:002010-05-11T07:49:07.214-06:00Thank you for remembering us waiting moms. This is the 3rd Mother's Day that I've been waiting to bring a child into my home. I am so happy to read your blog, which gives me hope that it will happen. Perhaps by next year!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35990418.post-2014680700313787812010-05-10T15:26:39.321-06:002010-05-10T15:26:39.321-06:00You wrote a wonderful tribute to your mother. I'm not surprised you have such a lovely mother, because you are her daughter.

At some point, I would be interested in a post or posts about how your children become acquainted with your faith and how their spiritual belief develops.

PatAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35990418.post-22489587423244256742010-05-10T14:20:22.103-06:002010-05-10T14:20:22.103-06:00Cindy,
Loved your post. I was wondering if you c...Cindy,

Loved your post. I was wondering if you could share some homeschooling resources with me. Ever since I read your post regarding homeschooling all the kids, the "homeschooling seed" planted awhile ago bloomed. We too live in a school district where kids don't go to school to learn. It seems as though it is a warehouse for these kids. Fights break out in gym, 5th grader brings a pocket knife to school and threatens to cut someone, and a kid punches a highschool principal and has to be tazed, kids tease my Claire because she is different....call her stupid and kids talking about porn sites at school No thank you, I don't want this for my girls. They have come too far in life and I won't let them back slide. I have so many questions for you, as two of my girls have the same memory problems that your Kenny and Olyessa have. Heck I am a special education teacher, and I am scared to take this step, but in my heart I know this is the right thing to do. If you want, you can email me at dobiegil2000@yahoo.com. Wouldn't it be nice to start an online group for parents like us????

RobinAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35990418.post-17987684207525415672010-05-10T10:55:59.913-06:002010-05-10T10:55:59.913-06:00Dear Cindy,
A wonderful post and I am so happy you...Dear Cindy,
A wonderful post and I am so happy you are hitting your stride with the family. Thanks for thinking of us who wait. I was blessed by 4 sons with fabulous Mother's Day thoughtfulness, but we also finalized a request letter to Lithuania for 2 girls, only to realize that we had excluded Hep C on our home study, after prayerfully deciding the other day that this condition would be manageable. So, off today to get things amended and hope the 2 girls are still matched to us despite the hiccup. Did not get the gardening help you did, as some numskull decided to schedule a soccer game on Mother's Day afternoon! However, it was nice to be with both younger boys in the sunshine! Another note of sadness, though, as our Azerbaijan referral continues to grow up in an orphanage while the Committee refuses to issue Hague regulations. It's been 4 years since we first thought she was going to be our daughter, and now she is 9. :( SherryOhiomom2121https://www.blogger.com/profile/03512342459339771734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35990418.post-49808525927153570352010-05-10T08:13:07.286-06:002010-05-10T08:13:07.286-06:00It's tempting this post-Mother's Day Monda...It's tempting this post-Mother's Day Monday to say that mothers are the glue that hold a family together. I think that is the case in so many families. And the name of that glue is "love", although some of the other ingredients are respect, patience, boundaries, wings. Like you I salute mother glue everywhere.

But I also must extend that salute to the fathers who also are family glue--Dominic for one. My nephew for whom this is the first Mother's Day that he is both mother and father.

Thank God for mothers like you who open their hearts and arms whether their children come to them from womb or other circumstances. Thank God for mothers who create alone too often and with sometimes a loving responsible parent.

Oh, that children everywhere could have such loving homes. Thank you, God, that these five have been blessed with such a home.

Love,
LaelAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
